Bringing together my love of politics and media, I have been lucky to work in both arenas at home in the UK and abroad. Currently I work as the News Editor and Director of Communications for Latest TV, one of the most dynamic local TV stations in the UK Local TV Network, being fully independent and creating lots of new content daily which is shared with many of the other 34 city stations. I have been involved in producing and presenting politics shows around Brexit, the Budget, Local and General Elections, and a daily show, called The Vote which invites people from the city to speak about the issues of concern to them. As well as the News and The Vote, my other programmes are The Newspapers and The Footie Show. My style is to summarise the nub of the issue and give people space to speak about what matters to them and their community. You’ll find all the past and the most recent episodes of my programmes on this website.
I am an experienced professional with a proven career history of working at a senior level in communications, the public policy industry and directly within politics for senior politicians at Westminster, Brussels and Strasbourg. Skilled in British and European Union based public affairs, politics, strategy, policy analysis, news gathering and the process and decision making of government.
Newspapers
My career in the media began when I wrote football match reports for The Sports Argus from the age of 16 to 18. I have always been passionate about football and particularly Brighton & Hove Albion FC. I joined Latest TV as their news editor in 2018 and since then have been developing their news and politics daily shows, sourcing stories and interviewing everyone in the community from councillors, to local MPS, to charity leaders, resident groups and giving a voice to all who would like representation on TV. I have managed, produced and presented political programmes such as Brexit: What Next; Who You Gonna Vote For; Brighton Budget and Valley Gardens, local issues affecting our city. I have also continued sports reporting by producing football shows for the channel and interviewing pundits and players.
Westminster
I worked in the UK Parliament at Westminster for senior MPs, Greg Barker MP, the former Shadow Minister for the Environment. I advised Ministers on a range of issues.
Brussels
I worked for two MEPs in the Brussels Parliament: John Bowis OBE MEP and Marina Yannakoudakis MEP. This involved working on issues relating to the environment, transport and health, and I wrote the report on Cross-Border Healthcare advising ministers to enable people to access healthcare abroad.
Strasbourg
Working for the European Parliament involved working in both Brussels and Strasbourg, the second Parliament of the European Union.
